Primary Services is seeking a Supply Chain Business Analyst to support a major Advanced Metering Initiative on a six-month contract with extension potential.   • 5+ years of experience in business analysis, operational analytics, forecasting, or a related discipline.
  • Strong experience with material forecasting, inventory planning, or supply chain analytics.
  • Advanced experience developing dashboards and analytical reporting with Power BI.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL and advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP and operational or inventory data.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze meter installation data to forecast quarterly and annual material requirements.
  • Develop material forecasting models that support long-term deployment planning.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards, operational reports, and KPIs for program leadership.
  • Monitor inventory availability and identify potential material shortages and deployment risks.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Field Operations, and Program Leadership to communicate forecasts and inventory needs.
  • Analyze work order and operational data to identify inefficiencies, trends, and improvement opportunities.
  • Use SQL, SAP, and other data sources to extract, validate, and analyze program information.
  • Support inventory planning and material availability analysis throughout meter deployments.
  • Develop analytics supporting smart meter pressure, temperature, leak detection, and equipment performance as the program progresses.
  • Support emerging use cases involving anomaly detection, real-time telemetry, and predictive maintenance.

Job description

Join a leading energy utility serving more than 7 million customers across multiple states and backed by 150+ years of industry experience. Contribute to a major 5–7 year Advanced Metering Initiative modernizing natural gas operations and smart meter technology. This initial six-month contract with potential for extension offers high visibility across Supply Chain, Field Operations, and Program Leadership while providing hands-on experience with material forecasting, business intelligence, operational analytics, and emerging smart meter technologies.

The Supply Chain Business Analyst will support the Advanced Metering Initiative by analyzing meter installation and work order data to forecast material requirements, monitor inventory availability, and identify deployment risks. This role will independently develop forecasting models, Power BI dashboards, and operational KPIs that help leadership anticipate material shortages and make informed deployment decisions. As the program evolves, the position will also gain exposure to smart meter analytics including real-time telemetry, anomaly detection, leak detection, and predictive maintenance.
