The work:

A Manager in Transportation Strategy designs and implements scalable logistics solutions that optimize transportation performance across modes, costs, and service levels. This includes transportation procurement, network design, fleet management, and digital enablement.

1. Partner with senior executives to shape transportation strategies aligned with broader supply chain goals and measurable business impact.
2. Address enterprise-wide logistics challenges—such as changing transportation costs, capacity constraints, and modal trade-offs—using data-driven strategies.
3. Lead projects on transportation network optimization, including mode selection (LTL, FTL, intermodal, parcel, ocean, air), route design, and service level analysis.
4. Develop cost-to-serve models and performance frameworks to guide procurement and fleet strategies, including carrier sourcing options.
5. Leverage advanced analytics and digital technology to improve visibility, performance tracking, and exception management.
6. Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, promoting collaboration among logistics, analytics, procurement, and operations experts.
7. Contribute to business development through proposals and thought leadership on emerging trends.
8. Challenge conventional thinking and help clients adopt innovative transportation technologies and digital solutions to drive growth.
9. Design logistics strategies that enhance supply chain resilience and sustainability, positively impacting communities.

Here’s what you need:

• At least 5 years of experience in supply chain initiatives, focusing on logistics and transportation strategy.
• Bachelor’s Degree.

Bonus points if:

• You have strong data and analytical skills in transportation network optimization.
• You can identify and articulate new value in logistics and transportation simply.
• You have experience presenting value propositions to C-suite and senior executives.
• You have worked on strategic cost reduction projects.
• You are familiar with transportation master data, TMS, and network optimization principles.
• You can think creatively and analytically in problem-solving environments.
• You excel at relationship building, managing complex programs, and demonstrating leadership.
• You hold an MBA or similar advanced degree.
• You have Lean or Six Sigma certifications.
