Summary:
The main function of a supply chain analyst is to coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments of an establishment according to the production schedule. A typical supply chain analyst is responsible for reviewing and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules and compiling reports on inventory levels, cost, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Examine documents, materials, and products, and monitor work processes in order to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
- Review documents such as production schedules, work orders, and staffing tables to determine personnel and materials requirements, and material priorities.
- Record production data, including volume produced, consumption of raw materials, and quality control measures.
- Requisition and maintain inventories of materials and supplies necessary to meet production demands.
- PSI Planning & Management.
- Manage weekly PSI (Production, Sales & Inventory) planning and analysis.
- Monitor sales demand, inventory, incoming supply, and production plans.
- Maintain and update AP1/AP2 forecasts based on the latest demand and supply plans.
- Supply & Inventory Management.
- Identify potential shortages, excess inventory, and aging inventory risks.
- Monitor production schedules and RDD to ensure timely product availability.
- Manage inventory allocation by customer, channel, and distribution location.
- Develop recovery plans for production and supply shortages.
- Sales & Order Support.
- Review customer demand and purchase orders to ensure sufficient inventory allocation.
- Manage weekly product commitments and communicate supply availability to Sales and Account teams.
- Monitor and manage DO/SO status, including order cancellation, blocking, and release when necessary.
- Coordinate inventory movement and site changes between hubs and direct-ship locations.
- Cross-functional Coordination.
- Work closely with Sales, PM, BM, Logistics, and HQ to resolve supply constraints.
- Support new product launches, promotions, and major customer programs by securing required inventory.
- Communicate supply issues, risks, and recovery plans to internal stakeholders and management.
- Reporting & Analysis.
- Analyze forecast versus actual sales and inventory performance.
- Prepare weekly PSI reports, shortage reports, inventory analysis, and management updates.
- Participate in weekly PSI/S&OP meetings and provide updates on supply, demand, inventory, and key risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management and experience in managing and developing direct reports.
- Microsoft Office, especially Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas).
Skills:
- Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor, and materials.
- Ability to accurately document and record customer/client information.
- Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to shipping and production.
- Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
