Job summary

Royal Oak Enterprises, LLC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of branded and private label charcoal, fire log and fire building products. The Supplier Quality Manager will develop, implement, and manage the supplier quality program for all purchased materials, ensuring they meet specifications and customer expectations while minimizing defects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, operations or a related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Systems.
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred but not required.
• Six Sigma experience with Black or Green Belt.
• Experience conducting supplier audits.
• Experience managing supplier corrective actions.
• Experience developing supplier quality systems.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage Royal Oak's Supplier Quality Management System.
• Manage third party audits through an outside company (SGS, BV, Intertek, etc.).
• Establish quality requirements and specifications for purchased materials/products.
• Approve new suppliers through qualification and validation processes.
• Monitor supplier quality performance using scorecards and KPIs.
• Lead supplier corrective action requests (SCARs) and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to reduce defects and improve consistency.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing Royal Oak's supplier quality program for all purchased raw materials, packaging material, operating supplies, and third party purchased products. This position ensures incoming materials/products meet company specifications, and customer expectations while minimizing quality-related production issues.

The role serves as the primary liaison between Royal Oak and its suppliers on quality matters and is responsible for conducting supplier qualification, supplier performance management, supplier audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage Royal Oak's Supplier Quality Management System.
• Manage third party audits through an outside company (i.e. SGS, BV, Intertek, etc.).

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

• Preferred bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Operations or a related field.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in Quality Assurance, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Quality Systems.

• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment while in manufacturing environments.

The Supplier Quality Manager plays a critical role in protecting Royal Oak's manufacturing operations and brand reputation by ensuring that purchased materials consistently meet quality expectations before entering production. This position drives supplier accountability, reduces manufacturing disruptions, improves product consistency, lowers quality-related costs, and strengthens strategic supplier partnerships across the organization.
