Job summary

Kloeckner Metals - Americas seeks a Supplier Quality Manager to uphold top quality standards with suppliers and external processors. The rolereports to the Corporate Director of Quality Management and involves coordinating corrective actions and leading supplier improvement efforts.

Ideal candidates will have experience in manufacturing quality, sheet metal processes, and the ability to travel up to 50% as needed to manage supplier performance and audits.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment; at least 2 years in quality control and supplier quality.
• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication including press work, forming, tool stamping, welding.
• Reading blueprints, GD&T; ability to create bubble drawings.

Job description

The Supplier Quality Manager is accountable for maintaining high quality standards with suppliers and outside processors. This position reports directly to the Corporate Director of Quality Management.

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier qualification activities to verify that suppliers are capable of meeting and maintaining product requirements.
• Establish quality control standards and procedures to be followed by suppliers as needed to ensure a consistent supply chain.
• Create and maintain supplier KPIs
• Maintain a supplier audit program, including risk-based scheduling, and follow-up activities
• Initiate and coordinate corrective actions between suppliers, the company and customers
• Implement improvement programs for suppliers based on demonstrated needs and customer requirements.
• Ability to respond to supply chain interruptions and effectively make corrections to ensure customer demands are met
• Oversee product acceptance program including participating in PPAP process
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication, including press work, forming, soft and hard tool stamping, welding, etc.
• 3+ years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment; at least 2 years of this experience should be in the areas of quality control and supplier quality.
• Working knowledge of inspection tools and protocols
• Working knowledge of Quality Management core tools
• Ability to read blueprints, familiarity with GD&T, ability to create bubble drawings.
• Experience with CMM software preferred
• 2-year college degree or equivalent
• Quality Management System auditing experience
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
