Job summary

Columbus McKinnon is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure our products and materials from suppliers meet stringent quality standards in Menomonee Falls, WI. You will lead supplier audits, drive corrective actions, and develop QA protocols to prevent defects and sustain supply chain integrity.

The role requires collaboration with engineering, customers, and suppliers to interpret drawings and quality requirements, perform root-cause analyses, and implement PPAP submissions when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• ASQ Certified Supplier Quality Engineer is preferred.
• 1 year minimum reading/interpreting technical docs (GD&T).
• 1 year quality experience in manufacturing.
• 1 year working with customers or suppliers on quality issues.
• APQP experience with related tools is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interface with engineering, customers, and suppliers on quality issues.
• Lead MRB and corrective action teams.
• Drive continuous improvement with suppliers.
• Design or specify inspection/testing mechanisms and equipment.
• Test with equipment and document results.
• Prepare/review/approve quality documents and reports.
• Participate in audits and compile reports as required.
• Manage communications with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Collect and analyze quality data.
• Document concerns via nonconformance records.
• Ensure customer and regulatory requirements are met.
• Interpret drawings and quality requirements to ensure compliance.
• Perform RCAs using disciplined methods including 8D.
• Witness/audit supplier building/testing processes.
• Perform risk analyses and mitigations.
• Assemble/verify Supplier PPAP submissions.
