Job summary

Integra Mission Critical, LLC. in Houston, TX is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) to ensure the quality, reliability and compliance of electrical and mechanical equipment for data center manufacturing and assembly.

The SQE will manage supplier quality activities from qualification through production inspection, delivery and continuous improvement, collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement to resolve design and manufacturability issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, quality engineering or related field.
  • 3-7 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or quality engineering.
  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, testing, data center infrastructure preferred.
  • Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and perform root cause analysis.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build supplier relationships.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (10–30%).

Responsibilities

  • Perform on-site audits to evaluate suppliers and provide approval recommendations.
  • Assess supplier quality systems and capabilities and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Support supplier onboarding with clear specifications and inspection requirements.
  • Inspect and test electrical and mechanical equipment (e.g., switchgear, UPS, chillers, generators).
  • Monitor supplier nonconformances and identify improvements to reduce cost of quality.
  • Lead supplier review meetings and drive corrective action plans.
  • Evaluate nonconformances from receiving/assembly and implement containment actions.
  • Develop supplier quality requirements and inspection plans.

The Opportunity

The Supplier Quality Engineer SQE is responsible for ensuring the quality reliability and compliance of electrical and mechanical equipment and components supplied for data center manufacturing and assembly The SQE will manage supplier quality activities from supplier qualification and selection through production inspection delivery and continuous improvement

What you will do
  • Perform on site audits to evaluate potential or existing suppliers and provide approval recommendations to the Supplier Quality Manager and Procurement teams
  • Assess their quality system maturity and validate the suppliers manufacturing capabilities and their ability to comply with company and industry standards
  • Support supplier onboarding of new suppliers by ensuring clear communication of specifications drawings inspection requirements and quality performance expectations
  • Support inspection and testing of electrical and mechanical equipment including but not limited to MVLV switchgear switchboards UPS system Battery cabinets chillers Generators pumps valves and piping assembly spools
  • Monitor and analyze supplier nonconformance data identifying trends recurring defects and opportunities to reduce the cost of poor quality
  • Facilitate supplier review meetings covering performance scorecards risks and improvement plans
  • Evaluate supplier nonconformances identified during receiving inspection or assembly operations and implement timely containment and disposition actions
  • Drive thorough root cause analysis and verify the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions
  • Develop supplier quality requirements inspection plans and quality control plans
  • Act as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal engineering and quality teams ensuring clear communication of requirements to suppliers
  • Collaborate with Engineering Manufacturing and Procurement to address design for manufacturability topics clarify specifications and resolve technical issues that impact supplier performance
  • Review and disposition first article inspection reports for new suppliers or for first time builds with existing suppliers verifying conformance to drawings tolerances performance criteria and documentation standards
  • Ensure process documentation measurement systems and control plans are in place for critical suppliers and effective throughout supplier manufacturing operation
  • Identify opportunities to reduce supplier defects NCRs rework scrap downtime and cost of poor quality
  • Apply Lean Six Sigma DMAIC 8D 5 Why Fishbone Pareto analysis and other problem solving methodologies
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering Electrical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Quality Engineering or related field
  • 3 7 years of experience in supplier quality manufacturing quality or quality engineering
  • Knowledge or Experience in metal fabrication welding pressure testing mechanical testing electrical assemblies hardware or data center infrastructure preferred
  • Capability to read and understand mechanicalelectrical drawings
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and capable of identifying effective corrective actions
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems
  • Excellent communication skills capable of building effective supplier relationships
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally 10 30
