Job summary

Integra in Houston, TX is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to ensure purchased materials meet quality standards and collaborate with suppliers to improve capabilities and long-term performance.

You will conduct on-site supplier audits, support onboarding, inspect MV/LV switchgear and UPS systems, analyze nonconformances, drive root cause actions, and coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing and Procurement on design-for-manufacturability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering.
• 3 - 7 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or quality engineering.
• Ability to read and understand mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally 10-30%.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site audits to evaluate potential or existing suppliers and provide approval recommendations to the Supplier Quality Manager and Procurement teams.
• Support supplier onboarding of new suppliers by ensuring clear communication of specifications, drawings, inspection requirements, and quality performance expectations.
• Support inspection and testing of MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, UPS system including verification of busbar configuration, insulation, connections, breakers, CTs/PTs, protective devices, control wiring, interlocks, grounding, nameplates, and applicable electrical test results.
• Monitor and analyze supplier nonconformance data, identifying trends, recurring defects, and opportunities to reduce the cost of poor quality.
• Facilitate supplier review meetings covering performance scorecards, risks, and improvement plans.
• Evaluate supplier nonconformances identified during receiving inspection or assembly operations and implement timely containment and disposition actions. Drive thorough root cause analysis and verify the implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Escalate critical supplier risks, including repeated quality issues, lack of improvement, or signs of deteriorating supplier performance.
• Act as the primary liaison between suppliers and internal engineering and quality teams, ensuring clear communication of requirements to suppliers. Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Procurement to address design-for-manufacturability topics, clarify specifications, and resolve technical issues that impact supplier performance.
• Review and disposition first article inspection reports for new suppliers or for first-time builds with existing suppliers, verifying conformance to drawings, tolerances, performance criteria, and documentation standards.
• Ensure process documentation, measurement systems, and control plans are in place for critical suppliers and effective throughout supplier manufacturing operation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers by identifying recurring quality issues, process inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost and quality improvement.

What you will do?

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering.
• 3 - 7 years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or quality engineering.
• Knowledge or Experience in metal fabrication, welding, pressure testing, mechanical testing, electrical assemblies, hardware, or data center infrastructure (preferred).
• Capability to read and understand mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and capable of identifying effective corrective actions.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of building effective supplier relationships
• Able to travel domestically and internationally 10-30%
