Job summary

PowerSecure is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to support the supplier quality manager in aligning supplier processes with design intent and PowerSecure requirements. The role emphasizes continued process and product improvement, supplier qualification, and risk analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a BS in engineering, 5+ years in supplier quality, and hands-on experience with PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and ERP systems such as SAP or IFS. Travel up to 50% is expected.

Responsibilities

• Execute PowerSecure Supplier Quality functions including Advanced Quality Planning.
• Manage supplier qualification: review documents and perform on-site audits.
• Monitor and analyze quality performance to drive KPIs.
• Improve supplier introduction, qualification, and technical evaluations.
• Evaluate and recommend supplier selections; drive supplier continuous improvement.
• Define incoming inspection requirements via risk analysis.
• Support quality system changes to drive manufacturing efficiencies.
• Drive a Right the First Time mentality within the supply base.
• Review assembly specifications for manufacturability with engineering.
• Participate in internal quality system audits.
• Promote continuous improvement across manufacturing teams.
• Travel to supplier sites (up to ~50%), leading audits and corrective actions.

Job Summary:

Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) aids Supplier Quality manager to help ensure suppliers’ processes are in line with the design intent of PowerSecure and verify supplier’s systems to ensure they are compliant with PowerSecure’s requirements. This includes on-going supply chain company verification and risk analysis.

A successful supplier quality engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills and be able to ensure that processes and products continually improve to exceed established quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):

BS Degree in mechanical, electrical or equivalent engineering degree

ASQ certification preferred

Minimum of 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Practical, hands‑on experience in supply chain development, qualifying and developing suppliers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions

Supplier Quality Engineers will work closely with purchasing and engineering teams to ensure processes are in place to minimize risk and meet product conformance. Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define process parameters and criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements. Supplier Quality

• Execute PowerSecure Supplier Quality Functions. Including Advanced Quality Planning and Continuous Improvement
• Manages supplier qualification process, including reviewing and assessing suppliers’ qualification documents, and performs on‑site audits—assessing suppliers’ capabilities and capacity
• Monitoring and analyzing quality performance driving measurable improvement in defined KPIs.
• Improve new supplier introduction, qualification, technical evaluations, and approval processes
• Evaluates and makes recommendations on critical supplier selections, drives supplier continuous improvement processes and approves of supplier corrective actions
• Perform risk analysis to define incoming inspection requirements
• Support the Implementation of quality system changes and enhancements to drive manufacturing efficiencies, meet shipment commitments, and ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
• Drive “Right the First Time” mentality within the supply base.
• Work with the engineering team to review assembly specifications related to manufacturability
• Participate in internal quality system audits
• Represent and encourage a continuous improvement culture within the manufacturing team
• Travel to supplier sites to lead audits, perform process reviews, evaluate quality control practices, and validate corrective actions. Travel will include both continental Unted States and International with a majority being within driving distance of PowerSecure. Travel estimated to be 50%

• Drive in quality improvements to reduce the need for incoming inspection and in process verification of purchased products
