Job summary

CentroMotion is seeking a Supplier Quality professional to design and maintain supplier quality standards, drive KPI-based supplier performance, and support sourcing and NPD projects. You will interface across plants to resolve major issues and lead corrective actions, ensuring supplier capability aligns with design requirements.

The role requires 5+ years in quality systems, AQ planning, PPAP, and data-driven problem solving, with up to 50% travel and strong communication in a matrix

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering related field.
• Have 5+ years demonstrated quality systems knowledge and experience.
• Ability to travel up to 50%.
• Broad knowledge of manufacturing.
• Capable to summarize test data and report for external customers.
• Problem solving tools (KT, 8D, etc.).
• Familiarity in Advanced Quality Planning including AIAG APQP and Control Plan, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA and SPC standards.
• Experience using Minitab or other statistical tools.
• Strong self-motivation and communication skills.
• Strong commitment to customer satisfaction.
• Ability to think outside the box and suggest/implement continuous improvement ideas.
• Strong analytical thinking.
• Good level of inter-personal relationships, interface with foreign personnel.
• Being able to perform successfully in a matrix organization; capable to lead complex efforts on behalf of the Quality leadership across functions.
• Self-started and able to work independently.
• Six Sigma Greens/Blacks or CQE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain supplier quality standards, policies, and manuals; develop KPI metrics and supplier scorecards.
• Ensure suppliers meet requirements and develop them to meet these requirements.
• Support sourcing and NPD projects on supplier quality.
• Interface with multiple plants to resolve supplier issues and verify requirements.
• Implements and maintains quality improvement and auditing systems with suppliers.
• Review engineering specs/drawings to assess supplier capability and advise on design modifications.
• Review PPAPs and deliverables (Control Plans, Capability Studies, PFMEA, Gage R&R).
• Lead containment and closed-loop corrective actions for supplier quality issues.
• Assist in third-party supplier audits and expedites during urgent situations.

Job description

Description

• Design and maintain standards expertise, policies, procedures, and manuals for Supplier Quality on the determination of new supply sources, supplier quality relations, standardization of measurements, and acceptable criteria of materials. Compile supplier performance KPI metrics and participate in supplier scorecard development.
• Ensures suppliers meet requirements. Develop supplier to meet these requirements as needed.
• Supports the Sourcing team in the selection and quality of potential suppliers and Support NPD (New Product Development) projects.
• Interfaces with personnel from multiple plants to resolve chronic or major supplier issues and verify that suppliers understand process/product requirements.
• Implements and maintains quality improvement and auditing systems with suppliers focusing on process controls, quality control, quality management and quality systems.
• Review engineering specifications and drawings to determine suppliers’ abilities to meet parameters and reviews new and modified product designs from a material standpoint advising modifications when necessary.
• Reviews and approves Suppliers PPAP’s; review and audit the deliverables including: Control Plans, Capability Studies, Part layouts, Gage R&R, PFEMA, and support or lead project management efforts regarding supplier changes.
• Involve suppliers, internal resources, plant personnel to drive containment and closed-loop closure to significant quality issue. Ensure that Supplier quality issues are resolved using an appropriate problem-solving methodology like Root Cause, 8D and decision matrices.
• Assists multiple plants on third party audit regarding supplier qualifications and performance.
• Assist Purchasing and Customer Service to expedite product from suppliers in urgent situations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Licenses/Certificates:

• Previous experience as an auditor for ISO 9001/TS 16949 or VDA Quality Systems, required.
