Job summary

Insight Global in Bothell, WA, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join the Global Supplier Quality team within the Oral Healthcare Business Unit. You will assess supplier capabilities, drive quality through APQP in NPI, and ensure components meet high standards.

You will coordinate with R&D, lead DFx initiatives, perform SPC/MSA analyses, and collaborate on supplier development and audits. Travel up to 30% to supplier sites and maintain the Approved Supplier List.

Qualifications

  • Leads APQP plans as part of the NPI process to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Reviews and executes DFx, SRPQP, MSA, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, PV&V and FAI activities.
  • Coordinates line releases and ensures parts meet quality standards before approval.
  • Supports supplier improvement initiatives and maintains the Approved Supplier List.
  • Analyses defects to determine supplier root cause and acts as reviewer for Supplier CAPA.

Job Description

As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will have the opportunity to be a part of the Global Supplier Quality in the Oral Healthcare Business Unit Team.

Job Responsibilities

Facilitates technical capability assessments of potential new suppliers, ensuring they meet the company's quality standards, and contributes to the supplier selection.

Conducts and reviews DFMAT (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly Technique), SRPQP (Specification Review and Part Qualification Plan), MSA (Measurement System Analysis), PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), Control Plan, SPC (Statistical Process Control), PV&V (Process Validation and Verification), FAI (First Article Inspection), LRA (Line Readiness Assessment), and SICR (Supplier Initiated Change Request).

Develops, executes, monitors, and controls APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) plans as part of the NPI process to ensure consistent product quality.

Contributes to the content of the Supplier Project Book, documenting detailed quality requirements and expectations for suppliers.

Facilitates collaboration between R&D and suppliers in Design for Excellence (DfX) initiatives to enhance product design quality and innovation.

Focuses that Critical to Quality (CtQ) and Critical to Safety (CtS) characteristics and special process parameters are effectively communicated to suppliers and rigorously maintained throughout the production process.

Coordinates Part Submission Warrant plans, deliverables, line releases, and completion, ensuring all parts meet specified quality standards before approval.

Executes supplier improvement and development initiatives on APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning), providing guidance and resources to enhance supplier processes, ensuring they meet the high standards required for production quality and efficiency.

Assists with the process of making additions, changes, or deletions to the Approved Supplier List, ensuring that only qualified suppliers are retained.

Supports in end-to-end performance management of suppliers, conducts detailed analysis of defects to determine if they are supplier-caused, and acts as an independent reviewer for Supplier Corrective Action Requests.

Skills and Requirements
Requirements

Minimum required Education: Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Engineering Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum required Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in areas such as Supplier Quality Engineering, Design Engineering, Process Engineering, Continuous Improvement Techniques or equivalent.

Travel & Schedule Requirements: Ability to travel 30% to supplier sites. Flexibility to work across different time zones as needed.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Preferred Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience.

Preferred Certification: LEAN Six Sigma.
