Job Responsibilities:

PROFILE:

Plans, supports and implements supplier development programs to identify risk and improve quality of purchased products. Evaluates, selects and develops supply base and assesses new supplier technology to obtain maximum quality and productivity levels. Formulates and/or assists creating internal/external supplier development control policies and procedures, and development of quality standards. Ensures suppliers are compliant to corporate quality standards. Serves as a technical liaison and coordinates activity of internal and external resources. Serves as a resource by providing a problem-solving function by initiating action to overcome obstacles as they are encountered. Participates in continuous improvement efforts by leading supplier development projects/programs. Research, recommend, and support implementation of new and/or existing quality assurance processes of suppliers. Performs other duties as necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead development activities for underperforming suppliers through the Top Focus process.
  • Conduct onsite assessment of potential suppliers.
  • Participate in supplier tech reviews.
  • Monitor supplier performance and identify underperforming suppliers.
  • Support in corrective action review for major customer events.
  • Participate and monitor the supplier APQP process.
  • Conduct various supplier-related audits on potential, new and current suppliers utilizing Supplier Capability Assessments, Run-at-Rates, Manufacturing Capability Audits, Control Plan Audits, etc., and take necessary actions as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

HEALTH & SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure all safety and non-safety rules and regulations are followed.
  • Ensure adherence to established quality and housekeeping standards.
  • Review and adhere to CTC’s health and safety, environmental, and quality standards, operating procedures, and policies.
  • Immediately report accidents, hazards, defects, or non-compliance issues to management.
  • Works and acts in a manner that will not hurt him/herself or any other worker.
  • Understand and uphold the policies that prohibit workplace violence and harassment.
  • Participate in all mandatory training.
  • In addition to the above, the duties include those specified under the Occupational Safety & Health Act.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Degree in a technical discipline preferred.
  • 5 years’ experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Ability to develop suppliers to meet global OEM regulations and requirements.
  • Experienced in supplier evaluation and development, continuous quality improvement, and open issues management.
  • Solid understanding of APQP/PPAP requirements including Process Control Plan, SPC, GD&T, DFMEA, PFMEA.
  • Understanding of the IPC requirements.
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001.
  • Hands-on mentality with a proactive approach to identify and avoid problems in an early stage.
  • Experience in root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong technical, engineering and communication skills in a global automotive environment.
  • Solid organizational and project management skills and demonstrated effectiveness to lead and collaborate with cross functional/global teams.
  • Strong drive to complete assignments on time in order to ensure flawless series production launches.
  • Experienced auditing external suppliers.
  • Certified Auditor to IATF 16949 and/or VDA 6.3 certified auditor.
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% (national/international).
