About the Role

Future Electronics is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Supplier Development Manager (SDM) to drive sales growth, strengthen supplier relationships, and increase profitability across assigned product lines, with a focus on connectors, relays, sensors, and electronic components.

This is a fully remote, relationship-driven role suited to someone with approximately five years of experience in electronics distribution, component manufacturing, or a related industry. This role works closely with suppliers, sales teams, and internal business units to identify new business opportunities, drive strategic sales initiatives, and expand market share.

We are looking for a proactive, personable individual with strong sales and relationship-building skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to influence stakeholders. A technical background is not essential; experience selling or managing connector products and a solid understanding of the electronic components industry are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Connector Product Focus and IP&E: Support the growth of connector and IP&E (Interconnect, Passive and Electromechanical) product lines by identifying target customers, applications, and market opportunities.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned suppliers, acting as a key point of contact to drive business growth and achieve shared objectives.
  • Sales & Business Development: Identify new business opportunities, develop customer relationships, and implement strategies to increase sales, market share, and product penetration.
  • Business Planning: Develop and execute supplier business plans in collaboration with sales, marketing, and product management teams.
  • Sales Performance: Monitor sales results, identify growth opportunities, address underperformance, and report on key performance metrics.
  • Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to develop sales initiatives, promote focus products, and identify new product opportunities.
  • Customer Engagement: Build relationships with key customers, support strategic sales opportunities, and collaborate with sales teams to secure new business.
  • Pricing & Profitability: Support pricing negotiations, strategic quotations, and margin improvement initiatives to maximize business profitability.
  • Pipeline & Forecasting: Track key sales opportunities, support forecasting activities, and coordinate with internal teams to help convert opportunities into business.
  • Marketing & Product Promotion: Partner with marketing teams and suppliers to support product launches, promotional campaigns, and sales enablement initiatives.
  • Training & Development: Coordinate product training with suppliers and internal teams to strengthen product knowledge and improve sales effectiveness.
  • Business Reviews: Participate in supplier business reviews, communicate performance results, and follow up on strategic action plans.
  • Travel & Field Engagement: Travel approximately 50% of the time to meet with internal sales teams, suppliers, and customers, strengthen relationships, and support business development initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant professional experience in sales, supplier management, business development, account management, or the electronic components industry.
  • Experience with connectors or electronic components is strongly preferred.
  • Background in electronics distribution, component manufacturing, or Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) is preferred.
  • Strong sales, relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • A personable, outgoing, and proactive approach to building relationships and developing business.
  • Commercially minded, with the ability to identify opportunities, influence stakeholders, and drive sales growth.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Comfortable working remotely and collaborating with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 50%.
  • A university degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical expertise or an engineering background is not required; a willingness to learn the product portfolio is important.
Work Arrangement

This is a fully remote position, with candidates ideally based in Pennsylvania, the Boston area, Chicago, or Austin, Texas. The role requires approximately 50% travel.
