Job summary

SpaceX Hawthorne, CA, is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer for Mechanical Hardware & Fasteners to own the fastener and hardware commodity end-to-end. You will manage suppliers, drive quality, cost, and schedule, and ensure reliable flight hardware.

This hands-on role involves shop floors, heat treat lines, and metrology labs, collaborating across design, procurement, and quality to enable high-cadence production of Starship components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar field.
• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or supplier development.
• Hands-on familiarity with mechanical fasteners and hardware.

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical hardware commodity for Starship end-to-end from suppliers to production.
• Lead NPI and transfers, qualify suppliers, and ramp production to takt times.
• Drive PPAP, CAPA, and process validation to ensure controlled characteristics.
• Contain nonconforming hardware and coordinate with engineering, quality, and production.
• Root-cause defects at supplier or SpaceX and drive corrective actions.
