Job summary

Averro is partnering with a client in space exploration to hire a Supplier Development Engineer in Merritt Island, FL. This role focuses on supplier management, program management, and aerospace manufacturing knowledge, supporting suppliers directly and traveling to supplier production facilities.

Must be comfortable with domestic travel up to 50%, and have an understanding of engineering drawings, product lifecycle, and aerospace manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of supplier management experience.
• Experience working with suppliers in technical environments.
• Understanding of aerospace product lifecycle & manufacturing processes (machining, welding, testing).
• Ability to drive technical discussions with suppliers and internal teams.
• Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Process, or Design Engineering background.
• Aerospace or similar complex industry experience preferred.
• Willing to travel up to 50% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Supplier recovery and performance improvement (on-time delivery, shortage resolution).
• Acts as an escalation point across suppliers, engineering, quality, and operations.
• Highly external facing with direct supplier engagement.
• Manage supplier workflow and projects to ensure priorities are aligned with business needs.
• Develop schedules and plans to bring up new parts and processes in the supply chain, and support supplier execution against timeline.

You will be focused on supporting suppliers directly and traveling to supplier production facilizes. Must be comfortable with domestic travel and possess an understanding of engineering drawings, product lifecycle, and aerospace manufacturing processes.

• Ability to drive technical discussions with suppliers and internal team
• Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Process, or Design Engineering
• Aerospace or similar complex industry strongly preferred not required
• Candidates from fast-paced environments
• Willing to travel up to 50% domestically

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS

• Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar training/experience
• Experience with process mapping, fault analysis, and capacity modeling
