Job summary

Latitudeinc is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer to strengthen supplier performance, support manufacturing quality initiatives, and assist in supply chain optimization. You will work with engineering and cross‑functional teams to develop expertise in supplier development, quality systems, and advanced manufacturing processes.

The role emphasizes collaboration with suppliers and internal teams to ensure product quality, timely delivery, and cost targets while driving process improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in supplier development or quality engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with process-improvement focus.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA or PFMEA and risk management methods.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication with internal teams and external suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and maintaining supplier relationships to meet quality, cost, and delivery expectations.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve technical issues in product quality and processes.
  • Support suppliers in meeting customer specs through training, audits, and improvements.
  • Identify and qualify new manufacturing sources for hard-to-procure components.
  • Act as liaison between design engineering and suppliers to communicate requirements and support quotes.
  • Review supplier production processes to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Help with data gathering and analysis on supplier performance.
  • Assist PFMEA/Process Flow Development activities by identifying risks.
  • Participate in supplier audits and evaluate compliance with standards.
  • Review incoming materials to ensure alignment with technical specs.
  • Prepare and maintain supplier quality documentation, including audit reports and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve supplier challenges and maintain quality.

This role focuses on strengthening supplier performance, supporting manufacturing quality initiatives, and assisting in supply chain optimization. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with engineering and cross‑functional teams while developing expertise in supplier development, quality systems, and advanced manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are met
  • Work with suppliers to resolve technical issues related to product quality and manufacturing processes
  • Support suppliers in meeting customer specifications and industry standards through training, audits, and improvement initiatives

  • Participate in reviewing supplier production processes, schedules, and manufacturing methods to identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist with process optimization efforts by gathering and analyzing data related to supplier performance
  • Support Process Flow Development and PFMEA activities by helping identify risks and process inefficiencies
  • Participate in supplier audits and assist in evaluating compliance with quality and regulatory standards
  • Review incoming materials and products to confirm alignment with technical specifications
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to supplier quality, including audit reports, corrective actions, and process updates
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve supplier challenges and maintain product quality standards
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or a related technical field
  • At least 1 year of experience in supplier development, quality engineering, or a related role
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to support process improvement initiatives
  • Familiarity with quality and risk management methodologies such as DFMEA or PFMEA
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers
