Job summary

Wayne County Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support students, assist in classrooms, and substitute for teachers as needed. The role includes helping during arrivals and dismissals and proctoring assessments within a structured school environment.

The position is contracted and managed through EDUSTAFF, with duties assigned by the supervisor and opportunities to contribute to various classroom activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 60 credit hours or an associate's degree from an accredited college.
• Passing score on state approved assessment.

• Act as substitute teacher when required.
• Assist students at arrival and dismissal.
• Assist teacher with large and small group activities.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

1. High School Diploma
2. Must meet the Highly Qualified Standards for Paraprofessionals as defined by No Child Left Behind
   
   1. Minimum of 60 credit hours or associate's degree from accredited college.
   2. Passing score on state approved assessment.
   
   
3. Previous experience working with school aged children in an educational setting preferred.
4. Ability to obtain substitute permit under MCL

Terms of Employment

Scheduled to work each day that students are assigned to attend class. Schedule to be determined by District calendar. This is contracted position. Hired through EDUSTAFF.
