Job description

This position is within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Aviation Safety (AVS), Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM), Medical Specialties Division (AAM-200), Aeromedical Standards Branch/ Internal Substance Abuse Program (AAM-210). The Office of Aerospace Medicine (AAM) develops and manages medical programs in support of Aviation Safety. The Internal Substance Abuse Program (ISAP) is responsible for oversight of the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.

To qualify at the FV-K (FG/GS-15) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-J (FG/GS-14) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes:

  • Leading, planning, or managing program analysis activities for the oversight and evaluation of a compliance program.
  • Applying laws, policies, regulations, or other standards and precedents applicable to the program or operation.
  • Overseeing data collection, analysis, and reporting, and resolving complex compliance or policy issues.
  • Analyzing budgetary, financial, and/or accounting data in an organization.
  • Identifying and resolving complex issues related to workflow, efficiency, and effectiveness of an administrative process/program.
