Job summary

National Park Service seeks a Supervisory Park Ranger (I) to lead interpretive services, visitor engagement, and park operations. The role may require evenings, weekends, and holidays, with potential overnight travel up to 1-2 nights per year.

You will supervise a multidisciplinary team, manage budgets and procurement, and foster external partnerships while ensuring safety and quality across facilities and programs. First-time federal hires typically start at the step 1 rate.

Responsibilities

• Directs the overall management of the park's interpretation, education, visitor services, fee collection, and related facilities and programs.
• Supervises subordinate supervisors and a multidisciplinary workforce, including staffing, performance management, employee development, equal employment opportunity, and workplace safety.
• Plans, develops, integrates, evaluates, and ensures quality control of personal and non-personal interpretive services delivered across multiple visitor facilities.
• Manages the division's budget and administrative operations, including fiscal controls, procurement, property accountability, and required reporting.
• Advises park leadership, represents the Superintendent, develops external partnerships, and leads long- and short-range planning for interpretation and visitor services.
