Responsibilities

  • Leads vegetation and ecological restoration programs by directing the planning, implementation, and evaluation of complex projects addressing native vegetation, invasive species, habitat restoration, fire effects, and ecosystem resilience.
  • Provides technical and scientific leadership by applying restoration ecology, vegetation science, monitoring, and adaptive-management principles to resolve complex natural-resource issues and guide management decisions.
  • Manages people, projects, and resources by supervising staff and interdisciplinary teams; establishing priorities; developing work plans, budgets, schedules, and performance measures; and ensuring effective delivery of program objectives.
  • Coordinates partnerships and compliance by working with park leadership, other agencies, Tribes, researchers, contractors, and stakeholders and ensuring projects meet applicable environmental, regulatory, and resource-management requirements.
  • Communicates program priorities and results by providing recommendations, briefings, technical reports, and other information to leadership, partners, stakeholders, and the public concerning vegetation management and ecological restoration.

Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Biologist with National Park Service, Yosemite National Park. This position provides leadership and direction for distinct branch programs including front country ecological restoration, wilderness restoration, revegetation and compliance, plant ecology, and others as assigned
