Job summary

Job description

This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Vancouver Audit Department (CNV) organizations in Internal Audit (CN) within Compliance, Audit and Risk (C). A successful candidate in the Supervisory Auditor (Performance Auditor) position will serve as a supervisory auditor leading audits, analyses, assistance, and advice to BPA business lines, corporate, and/or support organizations.

Qualifications: BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting. OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-13, in the Federal service.

  • 1) coordinating and leading complex audit assignments from planning through completion;
  • 2) performing complex performance audits or evaluations of organizational programs to measure their efficiency, operational effectiveness, and identify risks and management control weaknesses;
  • 3) writing final performance audit reports, presenting recommendations for program improvements to senior management, and negotiating with stakeholders to resolve controversial issues.

Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
