Job summary

Vermont State Auditor's Office seeks a Senior Auditor/Performance Analyst to enhance government accountability through rigorous performance audits. You will examine diverse programs, analyze data, and document findings for recommendations.

You will work independently and in teams, managing multiple audits with strong organizational skills. The role requires a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field and several years of professional auditing experience

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, economics, public administration, or related field AND three (3) years or more of professional auditing experience applying GAGAS or other standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, accounting, economics, public administration, or related field AND five (5) years or more of professional auditing experience applying GAGAS or other standards.

Responsibilities

  • Examine government operations and health care, human services, transportation, education, and public safety using data tools to support findings.
  • Prepare clear audit reports with recommendations for improvements and accountability.
  • Coordinate with the Vermont State Auditor's Office and other agencies to ensure audit integrity.

Requirements
