Job summary

Palms Casino Resort in the United States seeks a Supervisor of Workforce Planning to lead the Workforce Planning team, ensure adherence to policies, and collaborate with department leaders to optimize staffing and costs. You will train staff, oversee scheduling, and drive efficiency in daily operations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 2+ years in workforce roles, and 1+ year in people management; bilingual applicants are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years’ workforce or related experience.
  • Minimum one year experience managing people.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Virtual Roster and Workday software preferred.

  • Train and enhance Workforce Planning Team Members for scheduling solutions and growth.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure accurate staffing levels and efficiency strategies.
  • Supervise Workforce team members and balance workloads for weekly scheduling and daily operations.
  • Ensure timely schedule operations, including leave requests and call outs.
  • Perform special reports with senior management and audit Virtual Roster for cost savings opportunities.
  • Adjust staffing for events while maintaining compliance with CBAs.
  • Provide guidance on scheduling, labor management and leave management.

Job description

Reporting to the Manager of Workforce Planning, the Supervisor of Workforce Planning will supervise the Workforce team and ensure adherence to departmental policies and procedures.

Role and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager with departmental hiring, training, coaching, and creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction
  • Train and enhance the Workforce Planning Team Members to improve scheduling solutions as well as their personal growth
  • Collaborate with department leaders to ensure accurate staffing levels and to formulate efficiency strategies
  • Supervise Workforce team members and ensure balanced workloads for weekly scheduling and daily operations
  • Ensure the Workforce Management team’s completion of daily schedule operations, such as leave requests and call outs
  • Performs special reports working with senior management and auditing Virtual Roster for cost savings opportunities
  • Adjust property-wide staffing needs based on special events, large party reservations, table games/slot tournaments while maintaining compliance with scheduling to include departments covered by collective bargaining agreements
  • Ensuring the timeliness of schedule creation and delivery to the standards as set out by leadership and expectations of the business unit
  • Provide guidance to the business units around scheduling, labor management and leave management
  • The Workforce Planning Manager performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and assumes other responsibilities, duties, tasks and assignments that contribute to the mitigation or response to any public health emergency
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum or Two (2) years’ of Workforce or related experience
  • Minimum one (1) years experience managing people
  • Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above
  • Experience utilizing Virtual Roster and Workday software preferred
  • Bi-lingual preferred

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions – Environment:

The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting. Work requires travel to attend meetings, trade shows, and conferences. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally. Sedentary work: involves sitting most of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person, via videoconference and over the telephone. Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, via videoconference and over the telephone. Visual acuity that meets the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading and visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility. Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend and kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties. Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours.
