Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Supervisor, Warehouse Operations to lead a team in outbound pick, pack and ship in a fast-paced distribution environment in Jacksonville. You will oversee day or night shifts, coach staff, and drive efficiency and quality to meet service goals.

You will manage attendance, track performance, and implement process improvements, while ensuring safety and compliance across operations. This role emphasizes teamwork and customer-centric logistics execution.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred; Bachelor degree strongly preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in operations, warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or related field.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
  • Experience with data analysis and decision-making based on data preferred.
  • Experience with continuous improvement initiatives (5S, Kaizen, takt boards) preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel (Pivot Tables) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate employees in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Supervises daily work assignments and performance of group leads and associates, tracking efficiency and quality metrics.
  • Ensures warehouse systems are ready and schedules and prioritizes work for the team.
  • Conducts monthly performance evaluations and provides one-on-one feedback.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operations and mitigate risks within the team.
  • Manage attendance, timecards, and headcount to meet objectives.
  • Monitor productivity and quality metrics and report results to the site manager.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues, documenting root causes and resolutions.
  • Lead teams through change while maintaining engagement and continuity.
  • Maintain safety, quality, compliance, and customer service standards in daily operations.

What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning. Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers.

Job Summary

The Supervisor, Warehouse Operations supervises a team of Outbound Associates and ensures that pick, pack, and ship operations Outbound are safe, efficient, and of high quality. With responsibility for a day or night shift, the Supervisor continually monitors efficiency and quality metrics, assigns work and provides coaching to supervised staff, and addresses a variety of operational issues. The Supervisor directly contributes to Cardinal Health's customer service reputation by ensuring that shipments are on-time and of high quality, develops the Warehouse Operations talent pool, and enhances operational excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and motivate employees in a fast-paced distribution environment.
  • Supervises the daily work assignments and performance of Group Leads and Associates. Tracks efficiency, quality, safety, and productivity metrics to determine which tasks are behind- and ahead-of-schedule and provides hands-on guidance to Associates to ensure that pick, pack, and ship tasks are completed correctly and safely.
  • Ensures that all warehouse systems are ready and schedules and prioritizes the work that each Group Lead and team of Associates will complete.
  • Conducts monthly performance evaluations and provides constructive one-on-one feedback to encourage and improve Associates' development and performance.
  • Participate in talent, succession, and development planning processes
  • Tracks and manages employee attendance as well as timecards and ensures necessary employee headcount to achieve objectives.
  • Monitors continually productivity and quality metrics including (PPPH, ship and pick dpm etc) Regularly reports on team performance to the site manager.
  • Determines the productivity or safety issue root cause and directs supervised staff on resolving the issue and maintaining operations. Promptly and thoroughly documents the issue and communicates the root cause and resolution to the Manager, Supervisors, and other internal stakeholders, as necessary.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve operations and mitigate risks within supervised team and broader warehouse operations. Provides input into operational excellence initiatives and ensures that there are implemented correctly within own area.
  • Lead teams through change while maintaining employee engagement, operational performance, and business continuity.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, problem-solving skills, and ownership in managing complex operational situations.
  • Effectively manage conflict, facilitate resolution, and align individuals and teams around shared goals.
  • Prioritize and support safety, quality, compliance, and customer service standards in daily operations.
  • Manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs in a high-volume environment.
Qualifications

  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing medium size teams preferred
  • Experience working with data analysis and/or making decisions based on analysis preferred
  • Prior experience with continuous improvement initiatives preferred (ex. 5S, Gemba walks, Kaizen workshops, takt boards, etc)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel preferred ( Pivot Tables and spreadsheet
