Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan in New Mexico is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead a team in a 24/7 operation, implement production plans, and ensure safe, efficient warehouse processes.

You will train staff, manage inventory, review performance, and collaborate across departments. Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least five years of operational experience; SAP and MS Office familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Minimum five years of related operational experience.
  • Experience with supervisory methods and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Assign, supervise, and review the work of staff for the assigned work unit.
  • Implement production plans according to approved schedule.
  • May participate in the full range of daily operational duties, performing the most difficult tasks.
  • Inspect and evaluate work in progress and direct remedial action as needed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
  • Prepare estimates of staffing, materials, and equipment for projected work activities.
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and materials.
  • Approve purchases of materials and equipment; maintain reports.
  • Train staff in safety procedures and maintain safety data sheets.
  • Mentor staff in warehouse policies and processes; ensure training is up to date.

Where You Will Work

Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex located 15 miles from the historic mining community of Silver City in southwestern New Mexico. The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open‑pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000‑metric‑ton‑per‑day concentrator that produces copper and a 150‑million‑pound‑per‑year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run‑of‑mine leaching. The community of Silver City boasts various restaurants, arts, entertainment, cliff dwellings, festivals and much more. What You Will Do

  • Conduct performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
  • Prepare estimates of the staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected work activities
  • Maintain an inventory of parts and materials.
  • Approve purchases of materials and equipment; maintain time, materials and equipment use reports.
  • Requisition tools, supplies, materials and equipment
  • Train staff in safety procedures
  • Maintain safety data sheets for crews.
  • Mentor staff in warehouse policies and processes. Ensure all training for warehouse staff is up to date.
  • Perform other duties as required.
What You Bring To Freeport
  • High School diploma or GEDandfive (5) years of related operational experience
  • Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.
  • Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques.
  • Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.
  • Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.
  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Thorough understanding of warehouse inventory control systems, purchase orders
  • Ability to problem solve and do reconciliations and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of purchasing rules, regulations, methods and forms
  • Expertise in operating a variety of light equipment, hand trucks and vehicles within a warehouse environment
  • Proficient bar code usage
  • Ability to maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills; displays a professional can‑do attitude
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP
  • MSHA experience
  • Familiar with MS Office Suite (excel, word)
  • Previous Supervisory experience
  • Previous Warehouse experience
What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $75,000-$104,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
