Position Title: Supervisor, Transmission Operations, Maintenance & Training

Reports to: Manager, Transmission Operations & Maintenance
Location: Atlanta, GA (*On-site)
* During the first three (3) months of employment the incumbent will be required to work five (5) days a week onsite in the office, however thereafter they will be given the opportunity to work remotely one (1) day per week with manager approval
Supervises internal operations and maintenance personnel to oversee O&M activities for MEAG Power’s transmission assets — including vegetation management, battery and relay maintenance, and repair or replacement of transmission structures, equipment, and low-side distribution equipment — along with the associated work orders, Maintenance Authorization Requests (MARs), and invoice review that support that work. Functionally responsible for the physical security of MEAG Power’s transmission assets, including developing, maintaining, and updating the policies and procedures needed to remain compliant with physical security standards. Enforces safety procedures for MEAG Power field operations staff and maintains current knowledge of OSHA and electric utility industry standards. Represents MEAG Power on Integrated Transmission System (ITS) working groups and relevant regional and national committees on transmission operations, maintenance, and security.
Accountable for the maintenance, physical security, and condition monitoring of $800+ million in MEAG Power transmission and substation assets. Manages an O&M budget of roughly $1 million in administrative expenditures and $27+ million in contracted maintenance and operations spend annually and implements company policy and procedures accordingly. Develops and implements the training needed to comply with regulatory requirements for physical security. Customers served include wholesale electric systems, suppliers, system operators, and operations and monitoring centers, among others.
This position has two direct reports: the Senior Transmission Training & Safety Specialist, who certifies MEAG Power personnel, contractors, and Participant employees to perform limited maintenance and routine operations on the high-voltage transmission system and on the low-side distribution feeders serving MEAG Power’s Participants; and the Senior Operations & Maintenance Coordinator.
