Job Summary

Supervises a therapy services department; develops and implements therapy policies, procedures, services, and programs. Oversees post-acute, long-term care, and home health rehabilitation policies and treatment protocols aligned with the facility's vision, mission, and strategic plan. Manages and expands rehabilitation teams and programs to ensure efficient operations. Participates in measuring, assessing, and improving rehabilitation services to ensure quality patient care and optimal outcomes. Contributes to budget planning and strategic initiatives.

Provides daily guidance to team members, offering technical direction and leadership. Performs staff work within their expertise and provides patient care to meet department needs. Responsible for expense management and achieving financial, quality, and service targets, with discretion over limited expenditures.

Follows care plans established by therapists, delivering specialized therapy programs to aid recovery, improve mobility, relieve pain, and increase strength. Educates clients and their families about treatment plans and self-exercises for continued progress at home. Applies age-appropriate treatments and addresses the needs of diverse clients.

Incorporates current research into daily treatment practices. Treats individuals of all ages with various diagnoses and disorders. Ensures documentation complies with departmental and regulatory standards. Demonstrates clinical expertise in their specialty, adhering to professional guidelines.

Qualifications

Appropriate educational credentials in accordance with state licensure requirements.

At least two years of experience in therapy and rehabilitation.

Current licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in applicable states, with multi-state licensure privileges if required.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers, required within 60 days of employment.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 50% as needed.
