Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Menomonee Falls, WI is seeking an Operations Supervisor for a unionized Test Technicians team. You will lead testing activities, collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing, and ensure quality and safety while meeting production deadlines.

Responsibilities include hiring and developing the team, interpreting complex drawings and procedures, driving Lean Six Sigma initiatives, and maintaining high standards of equipment and process reliability.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years supervisory or team lead experience
• Associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent
• Experience with high power and medium voltage equipment
• Strong decision-making, communication and leadership skills
• ESD practices when handling small delicate components
• Strong mechanical skills; soldering and wire bonding is a plus
• Experience with Industrial Engineering concepts and 5S/6S techniques
• Familiarity with ISO/AS standards

• Work from wiring/assembly drawings and engineering specs to run complex test set-ups.
• Interpret and follow SOPs and test procedures.

• Diagnose electrical, optical, mechanical malfunctions of equipment.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Monitor internal and external customer satisfaction.
• Drive continuous improvement with Lean Six Sigma practices.

Job Summary

Join our Menomonee Falls, WI team as an Operations Supervisor responsible for a team of unionized Test Technicians. In this role, you will lead a group of Test Technicians as they perform standard testing procedures on a variety of equipment. Your team will work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to provide technical support for various items including complex components, devices, material, products, processes, and equipment.

What You Will Do

• Oversee the day-to-day activities of a group of unionized Test Technicians
• Hire, develop, and assess performance of assigned team members
• Work from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches including running test set-ups of significant complexity
• Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and test procedures
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with State and Federal regulations
• Lead a team to meet production deadlines and ensure quality of finished product (pass/fail rates)
• Diagnose cause of electrical, optical, mechanical malfunction, or failure of operational equipment
• Ensure product/service quality through proper utilization of resources and adherence to applicable standards
• Lead activities to resolve issues and problems, identifying root cause and effecting appropriate corrective action
• Monitor and enable internal and external customer satisfaction
• Drive continuous improvement through deployment of best practices, such as Lean Six Sigma
• Maintain and continuously improve areas, which impact on Team Member safety

Education & Experience Requirements

• 3-5years supervisory or team lead experience and an associate’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience in related testing environments
• Must have experience in working with high power and medium voltage equipment
• Must demonstrate strong decision-making, communication, and leadership skills
• Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practices
• Experienced in the use of various computer applications, specifically the Microsoft suite
• Must have strong mechanical skills
• Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus
• Experience with Industrial Engineering concepts and 5S/6S techniques
• Knowledge and familiarity with standards (ISO, AS, etc.)
