Job summary

Mediacom Communications seeks a Supervisor, Technical Operations Contractors to provide technical leadership and supervision of authorized field contractor companies, ensuring high-quality customer service and workmanship for residential customers.

You will oversee installation vendor workflows, compliance inspections, and daily capacity planning, while traveling as needed and coordinating with internal teams to meet quotas.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Capable of using Arris WorkAssure program, CSG.
  • Must possess comprehensive knowledge of safety techniques and procedures, all tools, test equipment, customer premises equipment and cable materials utilized by residential Field Technicians.
  • Must possess working knowledge of basic electricity and electronics theory, applicable FCC and NEC requirements and restrictions, CATV design including system map reading, maintenance, and basic headend functions.
  • Ability to effectively, professionally, and courteously communicate in both written and verbal form.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required. Must be able to project a positive company image, interact professionally with customers, subordinates, vendors, and all levels of company management and maintain confidentially at all times.
  • Must possess excellent problem solving skills.
  • Must possess excellent organization skills and the ability to handle multiple duties and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong follow-through skills, attention to detail and ability to produce work with a high degree of accuracy required.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Chief Technician with familiarity with all CATV technical jobs.
  • Requires demonstrated aptitude with mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • Valid drivers’ license required; satisfactory driving record without major violations.
  • Must possess good written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer networking course work preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate communication or action needed regarding installation, special requests, escalated issues, special projects, damage, claims, etc.
  • Perform or assist with difficult field jobs and handles customer service complaints related to installation, repair, or disconnection of all contracted Mediacom services.
  • Resolve technical problems with customers and contractor technicians through effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ensure complete resolution of customer complaints, including follow-up calls.
  • Required to effectively interface with the Contractor management representative of Mediacom approved and authorized field contractor companies.
  • Coordinate with contractor companies, Mediacom warehouse and field service center to facilitate daily capacity shifting.
  • Work with management to ensure proper levels of contractors to meet quota demands.
  • Responsible for supervision of Mediacom QA policy of installation vendor jobs.
  • Oversee contractor badging process, and conducts installation vendor compliance inspections.
  • Must be able to maintain regular attendance and be able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Must be able to travel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Overview
