Qualifications

Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Sterile Processing Manager and following established policies, procedures, and guidelines, this role assumes leadership of the decontamination, instrument assembly and wrapping, processing, and case cart areas. The position is responsible for performing duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital. It involves monitoring staff performance and productivity, overseeing the daily workflow and needs from the Surgical Service department, hospital floor units, and TMG clinics. The role requires interaction with operating room staff, floor staff, medical staff, and vendors. Additionally, the incumbent is responsible for collecting and analyzing departmental data, suggesting, and implementing process improvement strategies, and leading staff in the use of Culture Care behavioral expectations.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or G.E.D required.
• Four (4) years of sterile processing and/or operating room experience required.
• CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) certification required.
• CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist) certification required.
• Two (2) years of sterile processing supervisory experience or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to direct, lead, and discipline staff.
• Proficient with MS Office products and MMIS to run reports, analyze data, and present information clearly.
• Demonstrates a higher level of knowledge of inventory, stocking, dispensing, and processing of medical supplies.
