Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Supv Sterile Processing for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, position in Vancouver, Washington. The salary range for this opening is $33.13 – $49.69 per hour, with the hiring rate dependent on education, training, work experience, and applicable collective bargaining agreements.

Under the direction of the Manager-Sterile Processing, this role supervises and coordinates the department’s activities to ensure efficient processes and quality services.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree Healthcare or equivalent education/experience is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree Healthcare or equivalent education/experience is preferred.
  • Technical Program Sterile Processing is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in sterile processing or related fields.
  • Minimum 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Certifications as listed are required or preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily workflow to ensure service standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinates work assignments and oversees monthly schedule.
  • Serves as a resource for instrumentation and sterilization issues.
  • Participates in the hiring selection process.
  • Collaborates with management to develop policies and work plans for the department.
  • Provides leadership in quality improvement initiatives and may lead projects.
  • Maintains regulatory records and quality assurance reports.
  • Participates in staff evaluations and disciplinary processes.
  • Collaborates with Instrument Coordinator to ensure smooth flow of surgical supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PeaceHealth is seeking a Supv Sterile Processing for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Variable position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $33.13 – $49.69. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager-Sterile Processing, is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the Sterile Processing department to ensure efficient processes and quality services.

Essential Functions
  • Oversees daily workflow to ensure service standards are met and to ensure staff consistently follows standard job expectations and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinates work assignments and oversees monthly schedule.
  • Serves as a resource to staff for issues surrounding instrumentation and sterilization.
  • Participates in the hiring selection process.
  • Collaborates with management to develop and implement policies, procedures and the business work plans for the department.
  • Provides leadership and supervisory guidance in quality improvement efforts. May be asked to lead quality initiatives.
  • Maintains and reports required regulatory records and quality assurance reports.
  • Participates in the staff evaluation and disciplinary processes.
  • Collaborates effectively with the Instrument Coordinator to assure seamless flow of surgical supplies and instruments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
  • Associate's Degree Healthcare or equivalent education/experience - Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Healthcare or equivalent education/experience - Preferred
  • Technical Program Sterile Processing - Required
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of Experience in sterile processing, surgical services, and/or supply chain materials management - Required
  • Minimum of 2 years of Experience in a leadership role either as a lead or supervisor - Required
  • Required: Knowledge of sterile processing and regulatory requirements. and
  • Required: Experience with Ortho, Neuro, and General Surgical instrumentation. and
  • Preferred: Previous leadership/supervisory experience
  • Working with Instrument Tracking Systems and Material Ordering Systems - Preferred
Credentials
  • Required: Certified Registered Central Service Technician or
  • Required: Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
  • Certified Healthcare Leader through CBSPD or HSPA within 6 months - Required or
  • Certified Instrument Specialist through CBSPD or HSPA within 1 Year - Required
Skills
  • Proficient use of computers including MS Office applications (Required)
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. (Required)
  • Strong administrative, organizational, and problem solving skills. (Required)
  • Understands facility standards and practice guidelines as well as state and federal regulations. (Required)
  • Ability to lead teams and delegate assignments. (Required)
  • Ability to adapt in a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions. (Required)
  • Demonstrate ability to work under stress while maintaining a courteous, tactful and professional manner. (Required)
  • Advance knowledge instrumentation obtained as a Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician - Required
  • Must be able to work long hours and be available on-call as needed - Required

  • Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
