Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CR CST) or CBSPD certification required.
• Within 1 year of hire/transfer, obtain CIS, CSIS, CER, CFER, CHL, CSPM, CASSPT.
• Two years of sterile processing experience.
• Knowledge of AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities and directing work.
• Facilitate accurate and timely processing of instruments and supply delivery.
• Provide coaching and training to staff regarding processes, compliance and documentation.
• Provide ongoing performance feedback.
• Advise staff on correcting operational errors to promote best practices.
• Liaise with departments to anticipate customer needs and ensure timely completion of requests.
• Assist with compliance with all regulatory agencies and hospital standards.
• Process and sterilize supplies and instruments using proper techniques; label and store to maintain sterility.
• Ensure storage areas comply with regulatory guidelines.

Job Summary And Responsibilities

As our Supervisor Sterile Processing, you will lead daily operations in decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution, ensuring seamless support for patient care. You'll play a crucial role in maintaining high standards for sterile supplies and equipment.

Every day you will oversee staff, assign tasks, and evaluate performance within the Sterile Processing department. You will contribute to staff development through training and performance management, help manage departmental assets, and actively participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize service delivery and patient safety.

To be successful in this role, you will bring proven expertise in sterile processing techniques, compliance, and team leadership. Your ability to direct staff, implement quality controls, and effectively manage resources will be essential for advancing our mission and optimizing departmental efficiency in a healthcare setting.

• Act as a liaison with various departments; anticipates the needs of the customer and assures timely completion of requests and resolves any conflicts and/or problems.


• Assists with compliance with all regulatory agencies, Federal, State, and hospital standards.


• Cleans, decontaminates, inspects, assembles, and wraps or packages supplies and instruments using proper techniques and procedures, and sterilizes supplies and instruments using the prescribed method.


• Assures that sterilized supplies and instruments are correctly labeled and stored in a manner to ensure sterility and understands that all storage areas are to be in compliance with any applicable regulatory guidelines.


• Assists with storing sterilized items and equipment in a specified location.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Diploma/G.E.D.


• Certified Registered Central Services Tech or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)


• Upon hire, or within 1 year of hire or transfer, must obtain one of the following: CIS, CSIS, CER, CFER, CHL, CSPM, CASSPT


• Two (2) years of sterile processing experience


• Knowledge of all regulatory guidelines and standards of practice as it relates to AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission and OSHA

Pay Range
