St. Joseph College Station Hospital seeks a Supervisor of the Sleep Center to provide leadership and strategic oversight of diagnostic and treatment services. You will manage daily operations, mentor sleep technologists, optimize scheduling, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in polysomnography or related field with 1–3 years of clinical experience.
  • Registered Sleep Technologist or Registered Polysomnographic Technologist upon hire.
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise clinical and front-office staff to ensure staffing adequacy.
  • Lead recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee scheduling, insurance verification, and patient flow.
  • Monitor quality metrics and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure time-sensitive polysomnography reporting and follow-up.

Job description

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Supervisor of the Sleep Center, you will provide expert leadership and strategic oversight, ensuring the delivery of high-quality sleep diagnostic and treatment services to our patients.

Every day you will expertly manage daily operations, lead and mentor a team of sleep technologists and clinical staff, optimize patient scheduling and workflow, and meticulously maintain regulatory compliance and quality standards within the center.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding clinical knowledge in sleep medicine, strong leadership skills, and a proactive, patient-focused demeanor, contributing significantly to accurate diagnoses and improved patient sleep health.

  • Supervises the clinical staff and office staff in a respectful, courteous and consistent manner. Responsible for daily assignments, monthly schedules, and vacation scheduling to provide appropriate staff levels for the sleep lab while achieving productivity standards. Ensures staffing levels meet patient, departmental, and health system needs.
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, scheduling, counseling, providing feedback on performance issues including disciplinary action, and performance evaluation. Oversees clinical development of sleep lab staff to include orientation, competency assessment, ongoing education and training. Ensures 100% of licensed staff maintain licensure.
  • In concert with the Patient Access leadership team, supervises the operations of the front office to ensure efficient and timely scheduling, insurance verification, registration, authorization, and patient flow. Ensures delivery of exceptional customer service. Works with the Director to ensure proper coding, billing, and health information management processes are appropriate and compliant.
  • Responsible for managing labor distribution productivity, supply expenditures, and patient satisfaction data. Assists in cost control through efficient use of supplies to maximize allocated resources. Practices inventory control and orders all supplies, equipment, and materials. Independently completes daily standard work in a thorough, organized, efficient and timely manner.
  • Collects, analyzes and uses data in order to improve the quality of services provided. Models and reinforces a continuous improvement culture (e.g., understands and promotes national quality indicators). Assists in development and coordination of performance improvement studies.
  • Performs all processes associated with obtaining and reporting polysomnographic studies in a timely and thorough manner; ensures polysomnographic studies are read, interpreted, and resulted within acceptable time frames; provides polysomnographic study results to referral sources and facilitates patient follow-up.

Job Requirements

Required

  • Associates Other Polysomnography or other related field and 1-3 years 2 years of clinical experience, upon hire or
  • Successful completion of a polysomnography program associated with a state licensed and/or a nationally accredited educational facility. and 1-3 years 2 years of clinical experience, upon hire
  • Registered Sleep Technologist, upon hire or
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
