Job summary

PBF Energy seeks a Supervisor Shift, Emergency Response to oversee the refinery’s emergency readiness. You will lead Fire Marshals and the Emergency Response Team, and ensure rapid, compliant incident response across all site operations.

The role demands strong leadership, expertise in fire and emergency management, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Travel and on-site responsibilities may apply at Wisconsin and Oregon facilities.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher in Fire Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • EMT certification is required; Firefighter II certification preferred
  • NIMS 100/300/400/700 knowledge is required

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Fire Marshals and Emergency Response Team.
  • Develop, implement, and train emergency action and facility response plans.
  • Maintain equipment and conduct inspections and audits of security systems.
  • Serve as initial incident commander during site incidents.
  • Coordinate safety, security and environmental compliance activities.

Job description

Supervisor Shift, Emergency ResponseThis position organizes and implements procedures to insure the overall security and emergency response readiness of the plants, materials, equipment and personnel at the refinery.PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:Supervise and direct the facility Fire Marshals, and Emergency Response Team.Maintain the physical ability and skills to serve as a functional member of the Emergency Response Team.Manage the development, implementation, and training of emergency action plans, facility response plans, and department standard operating procedures.Ensure that all mobile and fixed emergency response equipment and security systems are maintained and available to provide full capabilities at all times, including necessary and required inspection, testing and preventative maintenanceInitiate and conduct security and emergency response investigations.Assist with development and delivery of annual emergency response training plan.Focus on training, personnel development, equipment familiarity, and inventory with external response resources.Conduct internal and regulatory compliance audits.Serve as initial incident commander during facility incidents.Assess after action performance of the site's Emergency Response Team and drives improvement as required.Perform other duties as assigned, including by not limited to contract management of contract security provider, process safety management, and environmental compliance.The Successful Candidate Should Exhibit The Following Behavioral Traits:IntegrityWillingness to maintain strict confidentiality and follow applicable privacy laws, policies, and guidelines.Interpersonal skillsCommunication skillsProblem solving skillsWillingness to develop drills and associated trainingWork effectively both independently and as part of a local and national team.Administrative and organizational skillsSkills to manage and prioritize multiple events and tasks while maintaining the standard of quality.Flexibility in an often ambiguous and rapidly changing environment.Critical thinker with judgment and skills to influence others.Self-management and prioritization skillsPassionate about education and continuous improvement in a team environment.Strong leadership and incident command presence.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management discipline, or equivalent work experience.6+ years’ security, law enforcement and/or emergency response experience.Must possess a current EMT certification (minimum EMT Basic).Must possess a current Firefighter II certification.Working knowledge of NIMS 100/300/400/700.5+ years’ supervisory experience.We thank all respondents for their interest in PBF Holding Company LLC (“PBF Energy”), however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
