Job summary

PBF Energy seeks a Supervisor Shift, Emergency Response to organize and implement procedures to ensure security and readiness of plants, materials, equipment and personnel at the refinery.

The successful candidate will supervise the Emergency Response Team, develop and train on emergency action plans, maintain equipment and lead investigations, audits and incident command as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in fire science, emergency management or related field.
  • EMT and Firefighter II certifications are required.
  • Experience supervising emergency response teams and personnel.
  • Knowledge of NIMS 100/300/400/700 and incident command.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the facility Fire Marshals and Emergency Response Team.
  • Maintain ability to act as a functional member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Develop, implement and train emergency action and facility response plans.
  • Maintain and inspect all emergency equipment and security systems.
  • Lead incident investigations and deliver training plans.
  • Coordinate drills, training and external response resources.
  • Conduct internal and regulatory audits related to security and safety.
  • Serve as initial incident commander during incidents.
  • Drive improvements based on after-action reviews.

Job description

Supervisor Shift, Emergency Response

This position organizes and implements procedures to insure the overall security and emergency response readiness of the plants, materials, equipment and personnel at the refinery.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise and direct the facility Fire Marshals, and Emergency Response Team.
  • Maintain the physical ability and skills to serve as a functional member of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and training of emergency action plans, facility response plans, and department standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that all mobile and fixed emergency response equipment and security systems are maintained and available to provide full capabilities at all times, including necessary and required inspection, testing and preventative maintenance
  • Initiate and conduct security and emergency response investigations.
  • Assist with development and delivery of annual emergency response training plan.
  • Focus on training, personnel development, equipment familiarity, and inventory with external response resources.
  • Conduct internal and regulatory compliance audits.
  • Serve as initial incident commander during facility incidents.
  • Assess after action performance of the site’s Emergency Response Team and drives improvement as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including by not limited to contract management of contract security provider, process safety management, and environmental compliance.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate’s Degree in Fire Science, Law Enforcement, Emergency Management discipline, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years’ security, law enforcement and/or emergency response experience.
  • Must possess a current EMT certification (minimum EMT Basic).
  • Must possess a current Firefighter II certification.
  • Working knowledge of NIMS 100/300/400/700.
  • 5+ years’ supervisory experience.
