Responsibilities
- Supervises a team of security personnel including guards.
- Monitors, audits, and maintains Contract Security requirements and communicates under the direction of the Security Director, maintaining constant communication with Building Management.
- Patrols periodically buildings, grounds, docks, and worksite, logging information.
- Examines doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are secure.
- Warns violators of rule infractions such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
- Watches for and reports irregularities such as fire hazards and security door issues.
- Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.
- Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
- Checks DVR Video Recorders daily, logs, signs, and dates on a daily per‑shift basis to ensure live pictures and 24/7 recording.
- Reports, records, and communicates with the Security team any scheduled maintenance required, including ordering emergency repair services and updating communication.
- Conducts written Security Officer and Building Safety Audits as necessary, including mandatory weekly/monthly per‑shift accountability; all reports filed with the Security Director for final review.
- Performs daily security post inspections throughout duties to ensure continuous compliance, guard alertness, truck logs, and yard checks; verifies post equipment functions according to operational standards and reports any deficiencies.
- Interviews Director‑level management, co‑workers such as Yard Goat Operators, Lead Floor Supervisors, and GT Drivers periodically to ensure posted Security Officers perform to standards; reports deficiencies for corrective action.
- Reports any suspicious activity, including any unethical behavior among co‑workers, clients, and contractors.
- Permits authorized persons to enter property.
- Registers at watch stations to record time of inspection trips and records data such as property damage and unusual occurrences for management.
- Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supervisory responsibilities: directly manages 15‑20 security guards and/or supervisors; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
- May be required to work overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- High school education; two to five years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least one year of supervisory experience.
- Ability to read a limited number of two‑ and three‑syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
- Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
- Mathematical skills: add and subtract two‑digit numbers, multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; perform operations using units of American money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Reasoning ability: apply common sense to carry out simple one‑ or two‑step instructions; handle standardized situations with only occasional variables.

Requires hearing and speaking; close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment may occasionally expose employees to extreme cold and heat. Noise level is usually moderate.

Pay Range
$65,000 – $70,000. The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for the position. The company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as location. The final starting salary will be determined in accordance with all applicable laws.
