Job summary

McDonald’s Global Technology is seeking a skilled Agile Scrum Master to support Restaurant tech squads in the Kiosk Domain. You will facilitate sprint ceremonies, remove blockers, and help teams deliver value faster in a fast-paced, global environment.

You’ll partner with the Product Manager and Agile Coach to drive DoD alignment, maintain Jira/Confluence, and foster high-performing teams through coaching and standardization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in mentoring and guiding Agile teams.
• Understanding of the Scrum framework with a history of mentoring high performing teams.
• Experience with Agile software delivery, pathway to production, and operations.
• Experience with Agile toolsets (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
• Experience across a large, globally-matrixed organization.
• Excellent understanding of latest development technologies.
• Love of new technologies and improving tools/processes.
• Excellent communications and stakeholder management; emotional intelligence.
• One or more Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM).

Responsibilities

• Ensure Scrum ceremonies (stand ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) are executed properly.
• Champion Agile CoE standards and processes.
• Educate the team and promote self-organization.
• Eliminate blockers and interferences to progress.
• Help Product Manager maintain backlog and define stories.
• Define and implement the Definition of Done for the product.
• Report to Product Manager and manage scrum progress reporting.
• Participate in scrum of scrums as needed.
• Address process issues and maintain quality.
• Capture metrics and support team improvement.
• Maintain and clean up JIRA in alignment with best practices.

The Agile Scrum Master role reports to the Agile Coach in CPP supporting Restaurant tech teams in the Kiosk Domain.As a Scrum Master at McDonald’s, you will be responsible for the daily operations of an agile squad, facilitating the work of the squad and scrum ceremonies, and ensuring the team is fully functional and productive. You will help the squad self-organize, focus on outcomes, and get work to a finished state. The Scrum Master is an Agile expert and helps the teams adopt what Scrum/Agile routines and fosters high performing teams.

Duties

• Ensure Scrum ceremonies (e.g., stand ups, sprint planning, sprint retrospectives, etc.) are executed properly, driving team to develop and deploy faster.
• Champion Agile CoE standards and processes within the team, being a front-line change agent.
• Support Agile Coach in educating the team, executing Agile best practices, promoting self-organization, and driving toward high-functioning teams.
• Eliminates blockers and external interferences to development progress.
• Helps Product Manager maintain the product backlog and holds team accountable to defining stories at the right level.
• Supports Product Manager in defining Definition of Done (DoD) for the product.
• Reports to the Product Manager and owns reporting and communication of scrum progress.
• Participates in scrum of scrums with other teams as needed.
• Addresses issues with their process and holds the squad to quality.
• Captures key squad metrics and supports team improvement.
• Maintains and cleans up JIRA in alignment with best practices.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in mentoring and guiding Agile teams.
• Understanding of the Scrum framework, with a demonstrated history of mentoring high performing teams.
• Understanding Agile software delivery, the path to production and other operational aspects.
• Experience with Agile toolsets (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.)
• Experience with teamwork across a large, sophisticated, globally-matrixed organization
• Excellent understanding of the latest development technologies
• A love of new technologies and the drive to find ways to implement better tools and processes
• Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills and strong Emotional Intelligence to read verbal and nonverbal cues in others so you can communicate effectively and cultivate healthy working relationships.
• Possess one or more Scrum certifications (CSM, PSM)
• Willingness and ability to live the McDonald’s values every day: Serve, Inclusion, Integrity, Community, and Family.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience of coaching technology teams on Agile best practices
• Familiar with change management techniques to facilitate cultural and organizational shifts.
• Knowledge across several Agile frameworks including, Lean, Agile-Scrum, Kanban, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Extreme Programing (XP).
• Experience working in a Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry.

Salary Range

The expected salary range for this role is$93,208.00 -$116,510.00per year
