Job summary

ASSA ABLOY Group is seeking a 1st Shift Finishing Supervisor to lead the Finishing Department, including Paint Line, E-Coat, Buffing, and Arms Assembly, ensuring safe, efficient production that meets schedules and customer expectations.

You will guide hourly team members, drive continuous improvement, develop skills, and uphold safety, quality, and environmental standards across the site. This role demands real-time decision making in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical field or business management.
• BS degree preferred in a technical field or business management.
• 2+ years in metals machining and electronics manufacturing.
• Experience in paint systems or finishing operations preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with lean or continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Paint Line, E-Coat, Buffing, and Arms Assembly departments.
• Ensure production schedules are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
• Partner with Quality Assurance to investigate defects, implement corrective actions, and reduce scrap and rework.
• Monitor KPIs including productivity, efficiency, scrap, rework, and downtime.
• Identify opportunities to improve throughput, reduce waste, and optimize departmental performance.
• Conduct employee training, coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions as necessary.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to paint application and E-Coat processes.

Job Requirements

Education And Experience

• Associates degree in a technical field or business management required.
• B.S. degree in a technical field or business management, preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in metals machining and electronics manufacturing.
• Experience in paint systems, coating operations, assembly processes, or finishing operations preferred.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, making effective real time decisions
• Demonstrated experience with a variety of lean or continuous improvement methodologies.
