Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Supervisor to provide leadership over daily retail pharmacy operations. The role ensures safe, compliant dispensing, inventory control, and customer service while guiding staff and supporting onboarding and ongoing competency assessment.

The supervisor collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement and optimize pharmacy-related services across the organization and fulfills responsibilities of a licensed pharmacist as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy required.
• FL license or Compact State license as Pharmacist.
• Pharmacy residency or equivalent experience; 3+ years in a supervisory role.

Job description

The Pharmacy Supervisor provides oversight and operational leadership for the daily activities of retail pharmacy services. Working under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, the supervisor ensures the efficient, safe, and compliant operation of pharmacy services, including medication dispensing, non-sterile product preparation, customer service, financial oversight, and inventory management. The role supervises assigned pharmacy staff, supports onboarding and competency assessment, maintains regulatory and accreditation compliance, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to implement and optimize pharmacy-related services throughout the organization. The Pharmacy Supervisor is also required to perform all responsibilities of a registered pharmacist and demonstrates commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree Pharmacy
• License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State - Pharmacist
• Completion of a pharmacy residency or equivalent community/institutional pharmacy experience. Minimum three (3) years experience as a pharmacy manager/supervisory capacity.
