Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy operations, including entry of prescription orders, claims adjudication, preparation and dispensing of medications, distribution, and inventory management. This role will involve compounding (non-sterile and sterile) and operating automated devices, while handling controlled substances and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license, have at least six months

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Florida or Compact State Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
• At least six months of related experience required.

The Pharmacy Technician supports pharmacy operations by performing a variety of tasks, including prescription order entry, claims adjudication, medication preparation and dispensing, distribution, non‑sterile and sterile compounding, and inventory management. Responsibilities also include operating automated pharmacy devices and equipment, handling controlled substances, maintaining assigned areas, and providing effective communication with patients. This role requires assessing and addressing the age‑specific needs of patients and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The Pharmacy Technician performs all duties in alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State - Registered Pharmacy Technician
• At least six (6) months of experience in a related practice setting is required.
