Summary:
The Clinical Supervisor plays a key role in the multidisciplinary team on the unit, acting as a liaison between providers, key team members, and primary nurses. The Supervisor facilitates patient care progression, supports the team, troubleshoots equipment and technology, assists with complex patient assessments, promotes safety, and educates staff on procedures. They collaborate with the Clinical Manager and Nursing Coordinators to ensure appropriate staffing and manage admissions and discharges. The Supervisor communicates professionally, coaches staff for professional development, and promotes evidence-based practice on the unit.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  1. Education: Bachelor's Degree in an accredited nursing program is desirable; a Master's degree is preferred. Expectation of 30 hours of continuing education annually.
  2. License/Certifications: Active Nursing License and current BLS required; ACLS required for critical care departments. Additional certifications may be department-specific.
  3. Experience: 1-2 years of clinical competence with leadership experience or equivalent education and experience.
  4. Skills: Ability to mentor and empower staff, foster teamwork, and serve as a role model. Self-motivated, effective communicator, and capable of building strong nurse/physician partnerships. Change agent with professional behavior and open communication.
  5. Supervisory experience is preferred.
