Supervisor, Production Scheduling (Tube Shop)

SUPERVISOR, PRODUCTION SCHEDULING (TUBE SHOP)

The Production Control Scheduling team is responsible for developing, monitoring, and fulfilling a Master Schedule to meet the part demands of Tube Shop customers, including launch manifest and development hardware. The Supervisor will train the schedulers and production coordinators to maintain the build schedules from cradle-to-grave for each unit and monitor the health of the system. This role allows for a direct impact on production success and opportunities to engage with all aspects of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of schedulers and production coordinators to enable Falcon 9 manifest targets and the continuous improvement of the Tube Shop.
  • Provide daily visibility on schedule, part shortage, or resource performance.
  • Develop and maintain reports relating to product completion status and on-time performance.
  • Perform schedule analysis on critical path and variances to optimize deliveries. Advise management when on-time order delivery is in jeopardy.
  • Partner with peers (supply chain, engineering, technicians, internal customers) and leadership in developing the maturity of the production planning systems and the maturity of production floor.
  • Correlate planning and scheduling of assemblies with asset and labor availability to obtain optimum utilization of equipment, efficient allocation of labor, and on-time delivery of products.
  • Attend/facilitate customer meetings to establish/evaluate priorities and risks to manifest schedule.
  • Provide coaching, training, and daily guidance to team, including career development and performance management.
  • Facilitate weekly clear to build meetings to identify and evaluate schedule risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Lead continuous improvement of material movement, production flow, process efficiency, and scheduling/prioritization.
  • Manage continuous improvement of Warp Drive and MRP data integrity/accuracy.
  • Ensure proper material handling and packaging to reduce handling damage.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of experience in material planning, production coordination, supply chain, or manufacturing role.
  • 1+ years of experience with automated scheduling systems (MRP/ERP).

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1+ years of experience with automated scheduling systems (MRP/ERP).
  • 4+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing, production, or testing environment.
  • 1+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience leading a team of 5+ people, and the ability to work and communicate well with others in a team environment.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and maintain program schedules.
  • Working knowledge of resource planning and materials management.
  • Attention to detail, highly organized, collaborative, and ability to pivot quickly in an ever-changing production environment.
  • Experience developing schedules for medium to large sized projects.
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Excel and similar scheduling software.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Position may involve long hours and weekend work as needed. Schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Supervisor: $115,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
