Job summary

VSE is seeking a Production Supervisor for our aerospace MRO site to provide hands-on leadership and strategic guidance. You will direct machinists, monitor production flow, and drive process improvements while ensuring airworthiness and quality standards are met.

You will lead a skilled team, manage training, and coordinate with cross-functional groups to meet production goals. A&P license and strong mechanical aptitude are required for this hands-on role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 6+ years of relevant/technical work experience and 3+ years of leadership experience or 9+ years of combined experience in lieu of degree.
• Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
• High mechanical aptitude required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and scheduling applications.
• Flexibility to changing workloads based on customer requirements.
• Strong math skills and attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

## DescriptionSUMMARY: The Production Supervisor is responsible for the effectiveness, efficiency, and integrity of the day-to-day operations of the MRO site. The person will be a hands-on leader providing direction, coaching, and management to the team. The position is both strategic and detail-oriented, with proven operations, supply chain, and technical experience in an aerospace MRO environment.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:* Monitor and manage timeclock and attendance exceptions.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams for process improvements.* Actively participate in future growth plans for their team.* Hold their team accountable for their production levels and organizational expectations.* Oversee daily operations in the machine shop to ensure efficiency and quality.* Conduct regular maintenance and calibration of machinery.* Troubleshoot machinery and production issues promptly.* Developing and testing effective automated and manual systems.* Provide all new and/or reoccurring training and technical support to machinists.* Monitor and assist production flow of components.* Communicate with other team leads daily on support opportunities.* Attend training courses as required.* Be involved with new capabilities within department.* Utilize specialty and hand tools daily.* Read and interpret technical data and drawings.* Verify that all components are tested to the appropriate specifications to ensure airworthiness.* Document maintenance records of all repair work orders performed.* Strong Verbal and written communications skills.* Planning and organization skills necessary to plan, prioritize and coordinate workload of assigned employees within a multiple project setting.* Computer skills necessary to learn and / or operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, project, email, and web-based application.* Engineering technical support for cross-functional teams.* Engineering responsibilities as assigned/required.* Other duties as assigned.## QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:* Bachelor's degree* 6 years of relevant/technical work experience and 3+ years of leadership experience* OR an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.* Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.* High mechanical aptitude required.* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and scheduling applications.* Flexibility to changing workloads/priorities based on customer requirements.* Ability to function in fast paced environment while maintaining a high level of quality.* Attention to small details as well as strong math skills.* Effective verbal and written communication skills.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:* 8+ years of operational work experience.* 6+ years in the aviation industry.OTHER:* The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
