Job summary

Snap-on Incorporated in Elizabethton, TN is seeking a Supervisor - Production to directly supervise manufacturing operations, ensure associates work in a safe environment, and motivate and coordinate up to 50 hourly associates to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives.

Responsibilities include planning and scheduling daily operations, troubleshooting production problems with engineering, maintenance and planning, and leading continuous improvement initiatives, training and mentoring

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing.
  • Previous supervisory experience and Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English.

  • Proactively implement and promote a safe work environment.
  • Lead and motivate team to achieve a positive team based work environment that meets performance goals and objectives for safety, quality, delivery and cost. Communicate expectations and results.
  • Manage workforce according to company philosophy aligned with "Who We Are", mission, beliefs, values and vision.
  • Responsible for planning and scheduling operations and workforce on a daily basis.
  • Regularly review process and productivity information. Troubleshoot and resolve production, quality and delivery issues working closely with a variety of support departments such as engineering, maintenance and planning.
  • Train, evaluate, coach and mentor associates, utilizing performance management techniques, to help improve performance, including disciplinary actions as necessary. Identify top talent for advancement opportunities.
  • Lead, participate in and support Continuous Improvement and other problem solving activities. Lead associates to use Continuous Improvement tools. Support implementation of new processes and methods.
  • Maintain and consistently administer local policies to meet day-to-day operating requirements.
  • Responsible for maintaining procedures and work instructions and for completing a variety of administrative tasks as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsible for overseeing department workflow, troubleshooting and resolving production problems. Develop and maintain a team environment which will work toward providing continuous improvement. Lead staff of up to 50 hourly associates.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS
  • High School diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in manufacturing. Possess technical skills related to the area of responsibility. Previous supervisory experience and Bachelor's degree preferred. Ability to read, write and speak English.
