Job summary

Dover Food Retail—Supervisor, Production 3rd Shift-Paint at our South Chesterfield, VA facility—leads team leads and hourly staff to meet production targets safely and with high quality.

You will drive daily standard work, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure on-time delivery and inventory control, while enforcing safety and company policies.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership position (team lead, team captain, supervisor, shift lead, etc.).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to team leaders and front-line hourly production team members; ensure a safe work environment, define expectations, provide resources, coach/teach/train associates, ensure accountability, and provide feedback.
  • Develop, implement, and audit daily standard work.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement; conduct root cause analysis and develop/implement corrective action plans.
  • Maintain production schedule, meeting both quality and productivity requirements.
  • Maintain good inventory control procedures for all raw materials that may be required in the assignment department(s).
  • Partner with supply chain, quality, shipping, and other departments to ensure the team meets production targets safely, on time, and to establish quality standards.

Whatwe’relooking for:

The Production Supervisor provides leadership toteamleadsanda team of hourly production employees, ensuring the team meets production targets safely, on time, and toestablishquality standards.

Whatyou’llbe responsible forinthis role:

Partner with supply chain, quality, shipping,and other departmentsto ensure the team meets production targets safely, on time, and toestablishquality standards.

Ensuretimelyresponse to operational issuesimpactingcustomer expectations and project cycle time performance.

Be knowledgeable of company policies andengage inappropriate resources(HR, Safety, etc.)whenrequiredto handle issues that arise.

Support, communicate, implement, sustain, and consistently enforce all company policies/procedures

Build and sustain good morale and attitudes among all reporting associates.

Initiate requisitions for open positions. Interview anddeterminebest candidate for position

Documentassociate skills and knowledgeto create a skills matrix of employee training needs and accomplishments

Ability to capture/analyze dataregardingproductivity -Understand through observations the causes for high and low productivity.

Understand production requirements and direct resources appropriately toprocureshipment items.

Communicate decisions with data and documentation.

Maintainaccuratetimekeeping inADPfor all assigned direct reports.

Enforce safety rules,practicesand procedures toensuresafetyof associates, buildings,groundsand machinery.

Other duties as assigned.

What are the basicqualifications?

High school diplomaorGED.

Minimum3years’experiencein a leadership position (team lead, team captain, supervisor, shift lead, etc.)

Minimum5years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.

What are the preferredqualifications?

Two years’ experience with 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies

Proficient with MS Office (Outlook,Excel,Wordand PowerPoint)

Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.

Able to interact and work effectively with employees at levels of the organization.

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Must be willing to workextended and/or weekend hours whenrequired.
