Job summary

Dover Food Retail in South Chesterfield, VA is seeking a Production Supervisor for the 3rd shift to lead team leads and hourly workers, ensuring targets are met safely and on time while upholding quality standards.

You will develop standard work, coach staff, manage schedules, and collaborate with supply chain and quality to maintain inventory control and resolve production issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a leadership position (team lead, supervisor, etc).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to team leaders and front-line hourly production members; ensure a safe work environment, define expectations, provide resources, coach/teach/train associates, ensure accountability, and provide feedback.
• Develop, implement, and audit daily standard work.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement; conduct root cause analysis and develop/implement corrective action plans.
• Maintain production schedule, meeting both quality and productivity requirements.
• Maintain good inventory control procedures for raw materials.
• Partner with supply chain, quality, shipping, and other departments to meet production targets safely and on time.
• Ensure timely response to operational issues impacting customer expectations and cycle time.
• Enforce company policies and procedures; engage HR/Safety when required.
• Build and sustain morale among reporting associates; initiate requisitions and interview candidates.
• Capture and analyze data regarding productivity; understand causes of high/low productivity.
• Direct resources to procure shipment items; communicate decisions with data and documentation.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping in ADP for direct reports.
• Whole and complete responsibilities as stated.

Initiate requisitions for open positions. Interview anddeterminebest candidate for position

Documentassociate skills and knowledgeto create a skills matrix of employee training needs and accomplishments

Ability to capture/analyze dataregardingproductivity -Understand through observations the causes for high and low productivity.

Understand production requirements and direct resources appropriately toprocureshipment items.

Communicate decisions with data and documentation.

Maintainaccuratetimekeeping inADPfor all assigned direct reports.

Enforce safety rules,practicesand procedures toensuresafetyof associates, buildings,groundsand machinery.

What are the basicqualifications?

High school diplomaorGED.

Minimum3years’experiencein a leadership position (team lead, team captain, supervisor, shift lead, etc.)

Minimum5years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.

What are the preferredqualifications?

Two years’ experience with 5S, Lean/Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies

Proficient with MS Office (Outlook,Excel,Wordand PowerPoint)

Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills.

Able to interact and work effectively with employees at levels of the organization.

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Must be willing to workextended and/or weekend hours whenrequired.
