Position Summary
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee our frozen vegetable processing facility in Ogden, UT. The supervisor will manage production and sanitation staff, coordinate with the Production Manager on production levels, and collaborate with the management team to ensure smooth plant operations. This role requires working the 3rd shift (approximately 10 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.).
Responsibilities
- Provide staff training, evaluate performance, and enforce policies and procedures.
- Coordinate between Production and Warehouse departments to meet operational requirements.
- Report accidents and injuries, complete incident reports, and administer drug tests as needed.
- Ensure Forklift Operators perform daily safety checks.
- Review QA paperwork for compliance with procedures.
- Document downtime, causes, and corrective actions; generate work orders when necessary.
- Work with PKMS to coordinate product usage and resolve related issues.
- Conduct food safety and personnel safety training.
- Maintain forklift certifications and operate equipment as needed.
- Understand production roles and oversee training.
- Resolve employee grievances and escalate unresolved issues to HR.
- Train staff and conduct performance appraisals.
- Enforce safety and GMP policies.
- Maintain consistent attendance.
- Follow all company policies, including SOPs, Employee Handbook, Food Safety, GMP, and HACCP procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Ensure production targets are met; monitor operator paperwork for standards.
- Inspect sanitation, warehouse, maintenance, and dry storage areas for cleanliness and organization.
- Oversee sanitation crew, including chemical application and equipment cleaning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computers, including email, spreadsheets, word processing, and warehousing software.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to analyze data using bar graphs, ratios, and percentages.
- Apply common sense to carry out instructions and solve problems involving multiple variables.
