Job summary

Yanfeng in Harrison Township, MI, seeks a Production Supervisor to plan and schedule personnel with the Production Manager, covering vacations, overtime, and staffing. You will set daily production expectations, monitor shifts, and ensure HSE and 5S standards are followed to meet customer requirements and plant targets.

You will train and monitor operator performance, collect KPI data, and support CI initiatives.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• 3-5 minimum years of experience with production.
• 1-3 minimum years of experience within the automotive industry.
• Must be able and willing to travel to customer sites, including industrial plants.
• Climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces may be required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with the Production Manager (vacation, temporary workers, overtime).
• Provide production expectations and quality feedback to team members in daily startup meeting.
• Monitor daily production requirements to meet customer and plant objectives while following HSE and 5S policies.
• Train and monitor operator performance to ensure certifications and training matrix are updated.
• Compile KPI data and end-of-shift reports for management and operations teams.
• Ensure job training and daily rotations are in place and enforced.
• Monitor compliance with the UAW contract and company policies.
• Monitor quality throughout production and participate in team/quality initiatives.
• Review processes and people daily to identify CI opportunities.

Job Description

• Plan and schedule personnel in cooperation with the Production Manager (i.e. vacation, temporary workers, overtime work).
• Provide production expectations and quality feedback to team members in daily start up meeting.
• Monitor daily established production requirements throughout the shift to ensure customer requirements and plant objectives are met while ensuring HSE and 5S policies and standards are followed.
• Train and monitor employee performance to ensure operator is certified and operator training matrix is updated and meeting departmental targets.
• Compile KPI data and populate end-of shift report.Distribute to manager and appropriate operations and support personnel.

Ensure job training and daily job rotations are in place and enforced.

• Ensure compliance of the UAW contract, team member handbook, safety guidelines, all rules, programs and procedures that pertain to production team members.
• Monitor quality of product throughout the production process.
• Participates in Team Leader meetings and Quality initiatives.
• Daily review of process and people to identify and implement CI opportunities.

Required Education and Qualifications

Area of Study: General Studies

3-5 Minimum Years of Experience with Production.

1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry.

Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
