Montefiore Medical Center’s Division of Clinical Pathology seeks a Supervisor to manage Point of Care testing across the Montefiore Health System. The role directs operations for the POC Testing program and ensures compliance with NCCLS, NYS, and CLIA guidelines.

The candidate will oversee tests such as glucose, urine analyses, urine pregnancy, occult blood, and rapid tests; travel to sites for training and review of records; and maintain accreditation and QC programs at Moses campus locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Medical Lab Technologist training required.
• NY State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license required.
• 4 years of bench experience (or 2 years’ experience with a Master’s degree) to qualify as a supervisor.
• Familiarity with Point of Care Testing instrumentation required.
• Knowledge of laboratory information systems required.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
• Knowledge of trouble shooting devices and root cause analysis when issues are identified.

Utilizing the latest advances in computer technology, the Division maintains millions of dollars of state-of-the-art automated equipment at its laboratory sites and services hospitals, nursing homes, the Montefiore Medical Group, faculty practices, and voluntary physicians' offices at more than 40 sites. The Supervisor will supervise Point of Care testing according to regulatory criteria. Direct the operations of the Point of Care Testing program for the Montefiore Health System. Maintain and monitor tests including glucose, urine analysis, urine pregnancy, occult blood, rapid strep and other using JCAHO, NYS and CLIA guidelines.
