Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Establish criteria for licensing and performance testing of staff (Certification Program) and develop on-line testing program as partner of e-learning.
• Track personnel and site involved in training, schedule annual reviews of training and certification process.
• Travel to sites for training and review of point of care records.
• Develop and implement necessary accessioning and QC program for each POC test.
• Track monthly compliance with program for each site.
• Take corrective actions with non-compliant individuals through appropriate channels.
• Develop PT programs where they do not commercially exist.
• Comparative analysis of POC devices prior to implementing new devices.

Utilizing the latest advances in computer technology, the Division maintains millions of dollars of state-of-the-art automated equipment at its laboratory sites and services hospitals, nursing homes, the Montefiore Medical Group, faculty practices, and voluntary physicians' offices at more than 40 sites.The Supervisor will supervise Point of Care testing according to regulatory criteria. Direct the operations of the Point of Care Testing program for the Montefiore Health System. Maintain and monitor tests including glucose, urine analysis, urine pregnancy, occult blood, rapid strep and other using JCAHO, NYS and CLIA guidelines.
